While searching Marketplace a while ago, I came across a wheelchair-accessible SUV. When I asked the seller why they were parting with it, she shared that their 20-year-old son had recently passed away. They had only owned the vehicle for a year, and now no longer needed it.
At the time, Garold and I felt it was too early to consider something like this. But time passed and the listing resurfaced, and after researching, we were shocked to learn new accessible vehicles cost between $120,000–$150,000. We decided to test drive the SUV, and the couple was incredibly kind and understanding. She shared, with tears in her eyes, how much peace it brought her knowing this vehicle would go to a family who truly needed it.
About a month ago, close family formed a committee and set a fundraising goal of $50,000. With the goal in mind. We were blown away by the generosity that followed—God truly abundantly provided more than we could’ve imagined. He hears and answers our prayers.
We are in awe of His goodness and hand in another aspect of our journey with Mikaela.
This vehicle costs $89,600, and thanks to your kindness, $58,220 has been raised so far! We are so deeply grateful for every single dollar, and every ounce of love and support.
Some small fundraisers are still underway, and the committee has chosen to continue until they’re complete. Everything raised above the goal that was made is still very necessary and so appreciated.
From the bottom of our hearts—THANK YOU. And above all, we give all the praise and thanks to our Heavenly Father for blessing us with this community.
