🔥Feeding Futures in Our Community 🔥

The Chilliwack Firefighters Charitable Society is proud to support growing food security initiatives right here at home.

We are supporting local schools, and our first deliveries were completed just a few weeks ago!

We are proud to announce that we supported 750 children in our very first delivery.

Off-duty firefighters are stepping up to deliver food to local schools every month!

We can’t wait to see where this program takes us! We’re just getting started.

Last weekend, our annual Guns and Hoses hockey game brought the community together once again for an incredible night of competition, camaraderie, and giving back here in Chilliwack.

Thanks to the amazing support from our community, sponsors, and everyone who came out to fill the stands and cheer us on, we are proud to share that we raised approximately $15,000. These funds will go right back into supporting local initiatives and making a positive impact where it matters most.

Your support is what makes events like this possible year after year.

We are already looking forward to next year!

This morning, the Chilliwack Firefighters Charitable Society had the privilege of taking part in this year’s Trees of Joy event with the Make a Wish Foundation!

We were lucky enough to spend time with Mila and her family helping bring their vision to life by decorating a personalized tree and surprising them with gifts. Their excitement made the experience truly unforgettable.

Trees of Joy is a special event that gives wish kids the chance to have a unique holiday tree and connect with the people supporting their wish journey. Being part of that moment, hearing their story, sharing laughs, and seeing the impact firsthand was incredibly meaningful for all of us and a true example of why we do what we do.

We’re grateful to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for the amazing work they do, and honoured to play even a small role in bringing joy to Mila and her family during the holiday season🎄

Chilliwack, it’s that time of year again! Your Fire Fighters are looking for your help in nominating families in our community that could use some generosity this Christmas. We are looking to sponsor a number of local families this year, building off of what we’ve done the last few years! Please direct message us on either Instagram or Facebook if you have a family in mind that you would like to nominate, or reach out to a fire department member that you may know. A short description of the family would be appreciated. We will be set up at the Chilliwack mall later this month if you’d like to donate to the Christmas hampers. Thank you in advance for helping us help those in need during this holiday season!

The Chilliwack Firefighters Charitable Society is proud to donate $2,500 to the BC Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund in support of burn survivors across British Columbia. This meaningful contribution is made in honour of Avarie Edwards, a resilient young burn survivor whose strength and courage continue to inspire our department and community.

Avarie’s journey has deeply touched members of Chilliwack Fire Department, especially Firefighter Taylor Edwards, who has seen firsthand the challenges burn survivors face. Together with Avarie’s family and fellow firefighters, the Charitable Society rallied community support to raise funds and awareness for burn recovery initiatives.

The BC Burn Fund provides critical care and resources to burn survivors, including specialized medical treatment, rehabilitation, emotional support, and programs that help individuals and families rebuild their lives after traumatic injury. Avarie has personally benefited from this support and now stands as a powerful advocate for others.
