March 8 is International Women’s Day — a time to celebrate the progress made in advancing women’s rights and to recognize the work that still lies ahead to ensure women can fully participate and thrive in all aspects of society.

At Spirit Abreast, sisterhood, strength, and wellness are at the heart of what we do. Our dragon boat team is made up of breast cancer survivors who support one another through movement, friendship, and community.

Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 Canadian women. While there have been important advances in treatment and awareness, the impact on women, families, and communities remains significant. Continued research and support for women’s health are essential.
