We're thrilled to recognize three outstanding students who are making their mark in the arts and community:

Each recipient receives a $1,000 award in recognition of their dedication to the arts and community involvement, as well as their plans to pursue post-secondary education in the arts.

SingOut is a welcoming, low-pressure gathering for 2S, q***r, and trans folks who love music, are curious about singing, or just want to try something new in good company. All you need to bring is a willingness to show up!

Led by singing instructor Joslin Romphf Dennis, join us on Saturday, June 27 from 4 to 6pm, at the Chilliwack Arts Council space in District 1881, for two hours designed to ease you into singing in a group setting.

REGISTRATION - LIMITED SPOTS

OVERVIEW
Welcome & warm-up: Get comfortable, loosen up, and find your voice in a relaxed group setting

Small group exercises: Practice in a more intimate setting with others at your side.

Group lesson: Come together to learn and sing as a full group.

Freestyle & coaching: Close out the night with some fun, choose from a catalogue of q***r anthems and sing solo, with a friend, or just cheer others on.

Coaching throughout the session is rooted in comfort and care. This is a space to explore, not perform. Your voice belongs here, no experience required! 🫶

ACCESSIBILITY
🔹Gender neutral washroom inside the space. Additional washroom for those using a mobility aid, nearby.
🔹This is an auxiliary, semi-finished office space, smaller in size, mobility aid accessible.
🔹Event will be noisy.
🔹Natural lighting from large windows.
🔹Cushioned and non-cushioned seating.
🔹ASL interpretation not available for this event.

ABOUT JOSLIN
Joslin Romphf Dennis is a soprano and voice teacher based in Chilliwack, BC, with a remarkable background in professional opera including training at the Curtis Institute of Music, the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindeman Young Artist Development Program, and debut performances at Carnegie Hall and the Canadian Opera Company.

She brings that same depth of knowledge and artistry into her teaching studio, where her approach centres on helping every singer find their own unique sound. Whether you’ve never sung outside the shower or just want to try something new, Joslin’s warmth and expertise will make you feel right at home!
