✨ Coach Spotlight: Karen! ✨

We’re wrapping up our Coach Spotlight series with someone very special! 💜 Karen has been Illusions Head Coach since 2003, dedicating so many years to our club, our gymnasts, and our coaching team.

💜 Favorite artist: Ed Sheeran

Outside of the gym, Karen loves spending time with her family and travelling! And we have an extra special celebration, Karen is getting married! 💍🥂 We couldn’t be happier for her and wish her so much love and happiness in this exciting new chapter!

This season, Karen will be helping coach our Acro Technique class and covering some of Shaelyn’s classes during her maternity leave.

Karen is always willing to lend a hand wherever she’s needed, and she genuinely cares about both our coaches and gymnasts. She is such a supportive presence on our team, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she does for Illusions, both on and off the floor. 💜

What better way to finish our Coach Spotlight series than by celebrating someone who has been such an important part of Illusions for so many years! We’re so lucky to have Karen on our team!

A few weeks back in the gym and our display gymnasts are already putting in the work with plenty of WOW moments!

But the skills are only part of it. We’re so proud of how hard these gymnasts work, how they challenge themselves, and how much they continue to grow. 💜

✨ Coach Spotlight: Jaylene! ✨

We’re so excited to welcome Coach Jaylene back to the Illusions team this season after her maternity leave!

💜Favorite TV show: Dancing with the Stars

Jaylene will be assistant coaching our Thursday Little Gymnast and Thursday Intermediate classes this year.

The kids absolutely love Jaylene, and it’s easy to see why! She has a wonderful ability to build connections with our gymnasts and always creates a kind, positive, and welcoming environment.

Jaylene is also always willing to lend a hand, whether it’s helping with classes or stepping in when needed. Her caring nature, flexibility, and positive attitude make her such a valuable part of our coaching team.

We are so happy to have Jaylene back at Illusions and can’t wait for another amazing season together! 💜✨

Today, we honour Truth and Reconciliation Day.

We pause to listen, learn, remember, and reflect on the history and ongoing impacts of residential schools, and to recognize the importance of continuing the work toward reconciliation.

Illusions Rhythmic Gymnastics is located on the traditional, unceded territory of the Ts’elxwéyeqw, Semá:th, and Pil’ált peoples, in the heart of Stó:lō territory. We are grateful to live, learn, gather and play on these lands.

Illusions is closed today, September 30, in recognition of Truth and Reconciliation Day.

Regular classes resume tomorrow, October 1.

✨ WEEK ONE COMPLETE! ✨

Our recreational classes are officially back, and we loved welcoming both our returning gymnasts and so many new faces into the gym!

From learning new skills to making new friends, we’re already off to an amazing start. We can’t wait to see what this season has in store!

We’re so excited to welcome Coach Amberlea back to the Illusions coaching team this year! 💜

This season, Amberlea will be coaching our Display Acro Tech and Intermediate Advanced!

Amberlea is so much fun to have around the gym and brings such a positive energy to the team. She also has an amazing creative mind when it comes to acro, always coming up with fun and unique ideas to incorporate into routines.

We’re so happy to have Amberlea back coaching with us and can’t wait to see all the creativity she brings to the gym this season! 💜

Today is the first day of recreational classes at Illusions! 💜 We are SO excited to welcome back our returning gymnasts and meet all of our new gymnasts joining us for the first time! 🤸‍♀️

We can’t wait for a season full of new skills, big smiles, fun memories, and lots of gymnastics! 💫

✨ Coach Spotlight: Shaelyn! ✨

This week, it’s my turn for our Coach Spotlight! 👋

💜Favorite movie: Star Wars

This season I’ll be coaching our Jellybean, Tuesday Little Gymnast, Thursday Little Gymnast, Tuesday Intermediate, and Thursday Intermediate classes.

Outside of coaching, I also help with Illusions social media and various admin tasks behind the scenes. I love being involved in all the different pieces that help make our club what it is!

My favourite part of coaching is getting to know our gymnasts and building relationships with them. I love having fun with the kids, encouraging them as they learn new skills, and watching them grow in confidence throughout the season. 💕

I’m so grateful to be part of the Illusions team and to have the opportunity to work with so many amazing gymnasts each week. 💜✨
