Each May, Speech and Hearing Month reminds us how important communication is to everyday life. Many children across Canada have challenges with speech and hearing, so they require support, access to care, and early intervention. We are proud to support them.

Through the Elks & Royal Purple Fund for Children, Elks of Canada (including Chilliwack Elks #48) supports a network of programs across the country, including the BC Family Hearing Resource Centre.

Every voice matters and every child deserves to be heard and supported. (Image created from Elks of Canada email and website.)

Chilliwack Elks #48 are pleased to make a donation to Little Heroes Hockey Academy. Little Heroes Hockey Academy is a program specifically designed to offer an opportunity for children and youth aged 5 - 15 with developmental delays to participate in ice hockey. With a goal of inclusion, Little Heroes Hockey Academy offers a place where all kids feel welcome and encouraged to pursue the game they love.

February reminds us who we are at our best. 💛It is a time for generosity, compassion, and kindness.

To those celebrating Lunar New Year — may the year ahead bring hope and new beginnings. ✨To those observing Ramadan — Ramadan Mubarak. May this sacred month deepen compassion and strengthen community. 🌙 💗 As Random Acts of Kindness Week comes to a close and Pink Shirt Day approaches, we’re reminded that even the smallest gesture can have a lasting impact. 🏅 With the Olympic spirit highlighting unity through sport, culture, and global connection, we’re reminded that building a more peaceful world begins with each of us.

Elks of Canada carries this spirit — generosity, compassion, kindness — beyond February and into every day that follows. We welcome new members. Consider joining us as a way to show up for one another, our neighbours, and our world. 🌎✨

We would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to Chilliwack Elks #48 for being one of our community sponsors for this years Coldest Night of the Year event happening on Saturday, February 28th! ❄️
This important community event helps us and other teams raise money and awareness for some of the most vulnerable folks in our community. We couldn't do this without our sponsors, volunteers, and of course, CNOY participants! There is still time to sign up onto our team, start your own team, or donate to the cause. Every bit helps!

Season’s Greetings from the Chilliwack Elks Lodge #48

As the holiday season continues, we extend greetings and heartfelt thanks to our community. We are truly grateful for the strong bonds we have built through service, charity, and fellowship. Our Lodge remains committed to supporting children and families — particularly those with disabilities— through supporting local initiatives as well as provincial and national programs.

This year, we were delighted to reflect on our shared accomplishments and fellowship during a turkey dinner graciously hosted by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 295. It was a meaningful opportunity to celebrate a year marked by service, generosity, and camaraderie.

As we look ahead to 2026, we warmly invite those seeking a meaningful way to serve the community while forming lasting friendships to consider joining our Lodge. New members are always welcome. We meet two Monday evenings each month at our local lodge and would be pleased to welcome you.

Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season and a happy, healthy New Year. BC Elks Association Elks of Canada

Our Chilliwack Elks Lodge is a volunteer organization that strives to better our community and help those who are in need. At our meeting this week, our members donated food for the Chilliwack Community Cupboard Society, a local, volunteer-run, Not-for-Profit Society that supports struggling families with children under the age of 19 by providing food, clothing, and essential items at no cost. If you’d like to support them, they accept cash/e-transfer donations, as well as donations of clothing, food, small household items, bedding, towels, toys, and more. For more information, visit their website https://www.communitycupboard.ca/home-1

We were also honoured to host the Elks Canada “grand exalted ruler“ (our highest-ranking officer, kind of like a CEO or company president) Kari Senko for an official visit, during which shared her vision for the year! Chilliwack Community Cupboard Society BC Elks Association Elks of Canada

So long as there are veterans, the Elks will never forget them, recognizing their courage and commitment and how their dedication has shaped the freedoms enjoyed today. We hope that the memory of those who served will inspire living with purpose, working for peace, freedom, and safety here and around the world. It was our honour to place wreaths in services today to honour our veterans.
