Monday, July 1st, 2024 will be full of activities and fun! Here's what's happening:

🎉 Canada Day Parade
- Hospital Route: Meet at the District Office before 10:00 AM for a 10:10 AM departure to Chetwynd General Hospital. The parade returns at 11:00 AM for the main event.

-Main Parade: Starts at 11:00 AM from the District Office and ends at Water Play Park behind the Chetwynd & District Rec Centre.

🌊 Water Play Park
Come cool off and make a splash at the Water Play Park!

🍔 Food Trucks
Enjoy tasty food and drinks!

🎈 Canada Day Activities
From 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM, join us for games, cupcakes, and lots of activities at the Water Park!

🏊‍♂️ Chetwynd and District Rec Centre
The Rec Centre will be open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, offering free swimming, an indoor playground, and a volleyball court!

🚫 Fireworks Canceled
Please note that the fireworks have been canceled due to a fire ban.

🙋‍♀️ Volunteers Needed!

Did you know you can pre-register for Emergency Support Services (ESS)?

Complete these three steps:
1️⃣ Set up BC Services Card
2️⃣ Create your User Profile
3️⃣ Create your ESS File

In the event that you need to access ESS, not only will this speed up the process of getting you registered and having services provided, but you will also be eligible to receive support via e-transfer instead of vouchers!

Download the BC Service Card app in the Apple App or Google Play stores. Once you've completed your registration and verified your identity for the BC Service Card, head to https://ess.gov.bc.ca and complete the second and third steps.

WALK DATES UPDATED
Just in time to increase your Participaction involvement for June! We chose four intriguing titles with ten copies of each, that are available for the whole month! We can accommodate four groups of up to 10 people through the titles, so that we can get each group ready for their walk-and-talk at least once a week in June! We will have loan restrictions in effect to be ready for the next group. Every week we will discuss a different book! There is still time and room to join in! Make your own group, or join the library lead walks noted below!
Anyone that can manage to read the books before the dates can meet at the library to take an hour-long walk on the following dates for the corresponding title:
Midnight Library by Matt Haig - Sat June 8th at 1:30 pm

Hour of the Witch by Chris Bohjalian - Fri June 14th at 3:30 pm
Daughters of the Deer by Danielle Daniel - Thu June 19th at 3:30 pm cancelled but another walk TBA in July
