Thanks to the community and despite the less than ideal weather the Whitecappers had a successful Country Fair. Visitors enjoyed the Bake Sale, sat down for some Pie and Ice Cream, and checked out a wide variety of crafts and art for sale. The Bake Sale and Pie and Ice Cream event raised $800 in support of our many programs for the 55+ community.

We would like to thank the many volunteers who set up and manned the event, the many community members who bought baking, pie and ice cream and in many cases donated additional money, and the vendors who showcased their talents.

Special thanks to the Chestermere Mustangs Junior "A" hockey players who surprised us by showing up to help take down and clean up after the event. These young men are a credit to our community and we are very grateful for their help.

The Eastside Bird-Walkers hit the trail Monday, touring Ralph Klein Environmental Park. Pelicans and cormorants were plentiful. The top floor of the educational building provided the group with a panoramic view of the wetlands.
