Well, its time to work with alongside our friends at 100 Women Who Care Chestermere!!! 100 Men Who Care Chestermere is up and going today.
100 Men Who Care is a giving circle. We meet 4 times a year and donate $100.00 each to a registered charity or not for profit in town.
All you need to do is be on the email list. No fees its free to join.
Members are also expected to attend 4 meetings per year where we review nominations and choose which charity to donate to (just a night out for wings and drinks)

As most of you know members within our community are playing in our 4th Worlds Longest Hockey Game in support of the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation.

Yes, we are trying to raise funds however the game wouldn’t be possible without the players and over 2000 volunteers to pull the game off.

This post is asking if you can spare a few hours to come out and volunteer as we need refs, bench helpers, etc.… if possible, even send this to your family members, friends, or coworkers to come and help out.

Quick rundown on the rules for those that wondering:
We have 44 players:
263hr game
You will skate between 8-16hrs a day.
Player can’t leave the rink once the game starts.
Players can’t replace players if the get injured.
Players can’t change teams once the game starts.
Player’s feet will swell up to 2 sizes during the game.
Some players will take up to 1 year to recover from playing the game.

Folks please share to help little man Gianni. We are half way there!!!!!!!!!

Gianni was diagnosed at the age of 2 with a rare brainstem tumor. This diagnosis was life altering and required Gianni to undergo surgeries for a tracheostomy to protect his upper airway, as well as a G-tube to help him eat.

Gianni also requires a wheelchair to get around, and currently is in need of a new one. Unfortunately, government funding for wheelchairs only covers a small portion.

Costs of medical equipment and time away from work create a cycle of backlogged expenses.

We are hoping to raise enough money to cover the costs of Gianni's new chair, to alleviate some of the financial stress that comes with such purchases.

That and any additional funds will go directly to Gianni's family, for their everyday needs and any potential extra costs.

Please consider sharing Gianni's story to friends, family and coworkers. During trying times, it is the strength of community that can truly make a world of difference for a child and his family.

Some exciting news due to a generous sponsor. We are taking 10 U7 teams for free in the Tim Hortons Western Canadian Pond Hockey Championship. Just need 6-10 kids per team as they play a 4on4 40min game twice a day.

Its our 7th year and getting bigger year after year. 100 teams, 1000 players from U7 to Adult Rec, 17,000 spectators a day!!!!

Needs the communities support, please read!

There is a need in our community to have a safe and inclusive drop in recreation area for youth. A coalition of invested and caring partners have come together to make this possible by creating a youth Centre called “The Drop” at the Chestermere Recreation Centre.
The Drop will be a fun, safe space where youth between the ages of 12-16 can play games, meet with friends, play sports, have snacks and will be supported by trained youth staff. The plan is to be open in mid-June and run throughout the summer and into the school year.
Funds raised from the 50/50 will help purchase games and program supplies for the center as well as support furnishing and staffing.
