Lake Ridge Community Church

Lake Ridge Community Church We are a community of neighbours and friends who are learning, together, what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus, here in Chestermere. Join us!

See you Sunday at 10:30 am and in the neighbourhood. Lake Ridge Community Church believes Jesus is bringing people together, and doing this amazing work here and now. We meet Sunday Mornings at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Wisdom School (134 Rainbow Falls Drive). On Sunday mornings we hope to be a place of intentional worship, learning, and spiritual growth as we discover what it is to become more like

Jesus. Throughout the week we hope to be the kind of community that loves Chestermere and each other in beautiful and surprising ways.

This morning was filled with meaningful moments as we celebrated some important milestones in the lives of our kids and families.

We presented Bibles to our Grade 3 students, giving many of them their very first Bible and a tool to help them grow in their faith and discover God's story for themselves.

We also celebrated our Grade 6 students as they get ready to move up into Youth Ministry. We are excited to see them take this next step, build new friendships, and continue growing in their relationship with Jesus.

Together, we shared Communion, remembering Christ's love and sacrifice, and enjoyed chili dogs as we celebrated the dads and father figures in our community for Father's Day.

From first Bibles to new beginnings and shared meals, it was a joy-filled morning at Lake Ridge.

Yesterday we talked about the practice of sabbath rest.

Not the kind of rest that simply fills an empty calendar, but the kind that reconnects us to God, reminds us who we are, and helps us notice the beauty He has placed around us.

After the service, a group of us headed to Reader Rock Garden to slow down, walk among the flowers and greenery, and simply enjoy being together. There was no agenda to accomplish, no rush to get somewhere else, just conversation, laughter, fresh air, and moments of wonder.

Sometimes Sabbath looks like worship. Sometimes it looks like a walk through a garden. Often, it's both.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We hope these moments of rest become more than an occasional event and grow into a regular rhythm of life.

There is something beautiful about a church family that genuinely cares for one another.

As we look through these photos from Sunday, we're reminded that ministry often happens in the small moments: a hug, a conversation, a hand on a shoulder, a prayer shared between friends, or simply taking the time to truly listen.

This week, Pastor Rob Peterson challenged us to consider Jesus' invitation into silence and solitude. Not as an interesting idea, but as a practice that opens our hearts to God.

His closing words have stayed with us: "My deeper hope, though, is simply that all of us would be a little more open to Jesus' invitation. That we wouldn't walk out today as admirers of the idea of silence — fans of the concept — but that we'd be willing to say yes to him, even once, and see what he does."

Maybe that's what we're seeing in these photos. People slowing down. Making room. Being present. Loving one another well.

Thank you, Pastor Rob, for joining us. And thank you, Lake Ridge, for continuing to be a community where people are seen, known, and cared for.

What a morning! 🥞❤️

This week, we had the privilege of welcoming over 75 seniors from across our community for our Seniors Week Pancake Breakfast. What started as a simple breakfast became a room full of laughter, conversation, music, new friendships, and meaningful connections.

A huge thank you to Camp Chestermere to all the amazing volunteers, and everyone who helped make this event possible. It was a beautiful reminder that community is built one conversation, one act of kindness, and sometimes one pancake at a time.

To all the seniors who joined us: thank you for sharing your stories, your smiles, and your morning with us. We loved having you here.

Author and pastor Eugene Peterson wrote, “Nothing is more important in the Christian life than being a part of a congregation.” It’s a bold invitation. It asserts that faith in Jesus gives a deep welcome to those around us: we don’t love in a vacuum, but in the real connections we make with real people, as they are and where they are. Church community life, in all its forms and ordinariness, is the ground of flourishing for growing in faith. So pour some soup, take an extra piece of cake, pull up a chair, sing along, open a Bible, tell a story, or listen to another. Church is a beautiful arrival, we’re grateful that you’re here. 📷

Here’s our “Ship of Fools” sermon series reading list. Be inspired by the lives of those who walked with Jesus with an absurd kind of love and freedom.

05/12/2026

Our new sermon series, “Ship of Fools” begins this Sunday and considers what it might mean to be, as Paul says, “fools for Christ.” Jesus invited his friends into moments of trust that would seem absurd, foolish, even mad, until they weren’t. David danced, Isaiah went naked, Zacchaeus climbed a tree (and gave his money away). Join us as we push out into the deep with the fools that were anything but…
