The Rotary Club of Chestermere is pleased to help support the Calgary Yacht Club with its work in growing the sport and community in Chestermere. The Rotary Chestermere Club donated $2000 to the Calgary Yacht Club for new life jackets. Maury Quinney, Rotary Chestermere President, presented the funds to Michelle Dean, Calgary Yacht Club Manager, and Bill and Jen Peddlesden, Calgary Yacht Club board members.

The Chestermere Go Girl progam returned to Chestermere this May 15, 2026 at the Calgary Yacht Club. The full day event helped the participating girls build their confidence, stay active, and make friends. During the day, the girls had the chance to try different sports and wellness activities: sailing, dance, football, yoga, stepping stones, and self-image

The Go Girl program remains a critical initiative to support girls in Chestermere as they build confidence and participate in sports. This program gives the girls a safe place and a step up.

The Chestermere community makes this program impactful and enjoyable. Synergy, Calgary Yacht Club, Rocky View Schools, Alberta Health Services, Little Lake Locals, Stepping Stones to Mental Health, and the Calgary Rural Primary Care Network run the event smoothly with volunteers, location, and expertise. The girls feel included in the community.

The Chestermere Rotary Club sponsors this program as a key community builder.

- The Canadian Brewhouse (Chestermere) features St. Patrick's Day specials, green beer, and win a trip to Ireland, March 13–17.
- Family Activities: Macaroni KID Chestermere offers a free, personalized Leprechaun Letter to make the day magical for kids.
- Local Crafts: Little Lake Locals suggests making homemade green slime.

We’re opening the door for one Chestermere resident to roll up their sleeves and join Rotary Chestermere for a meaningful build day with Habitat for Humanity at the Dawson’s Landing townhome project here in Chestermere.

Spend the day building alongside volunteers, learning new skills, sharing a few laughs, and helping create a future home for a local family. If you’ve ever wanted to see what a Habitat build day is like, this is your chance to jump in and experience it with us. 🛠️

If you’d like to join Rotary Chestermere for the day, send us a message TODAY and we’ll connect with the lucky resident who’ll be joining the crew.

NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED. We’ll provide the training, equipment, lunch and snacks, plus a Habitat for Humanity take-home t-shirt.

Participants must be 19+ and in good physical condition.

There is no cost to join us, Rotary Chestermere has proudly made the $500/person donation on your behalf.

The Chestermere Multicultural Fashion Show 2026 delivered what it promised. It connected community through cultural fashion in support of mental health. And it was fun.
