Chesley Horticultural Society’s (CHS) Flower Show is scheduled for Wednesday July 15 from 6:30-8:30. The beautiful Shed at Klages Mill is the venue.

This year’s theme is Pollinators so it made perfect sense to invite local Beekeeper Caeli Mazara.

Here’s a little bit about her:

Caeli is a pollinator and native plant enthusiast with a special interest in honeybees. She has been keeping bees for six years, with apiaries in Shallow Lake and Lion's Head, where she offers beekeeping experiences for prospective beekeepers and anyone interested in exploring the complex and magical world of bees. As a guide with the Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association, she leads interpretive hikes with a particular focus on night hikes. An avid camper, paddler, and long-distance hiker, Caeli is also gradually transforming her Shallow Lake property from lawn into native gardens to support the many pollinator species that call the region home.

Caeli will have an observation hive on hand plus other beekeeping- related tools to share with the audience. Please mark your calendars.

While the Flower Show is an event to showcase CHS members botanical talents, ALL members of the public ARE WELCOME to attend the evening event. Let’s fill Klages Mill to learn more about bees and their important role in our environment!

Entrance to the Mill is by donation.

Coming up in a little over a week. Everyone is welcome. Just give Lorna a head’s up.
