On April 20th we re-tested at 1 km. culvert sight on Sugar Lake road.
New results were total coliforms=916
E-coli=248
This is a significant drop, however drinking water standards are -1.

On Feb. 20th, Cherryville Water Stewards used one of the un-scheduled discretionary tests that are covered by our grant, at a culvert running under Sugar Lake road at 1 km, directly into the Shuswap river.

The laboratory results were: Total coliform 2,420; e coli 2,420.

In over a decade of testing we have never experienced readings anywhere close to this high.

A complaint, (report #221168) was filed on Feb.28th with the Natural Resources officers at the R.A.P.P. line. (report all poachers and polluters) 1 -877-952-7277.

Also, on Feb. 28th the Environmental Health Division of Interior Health was notified. 250-549-5700

In a March 7th update, both enforcement agencies assured us that the wheels are turning on this matter.

Concerned Cherryville residents (we are all stewards) can seek current updates at either of these agencies.
