Next we introduce Freya, she was a rescue we got with a sad background. But at Peaceful Pastures we don't dwell on the past we look forward to the future. She is a Canadian breed although we're not 100% sure if full. She's my personal Heart horse and I love her to pieces.

This is Islay, the one that started it all. I was volunteering at a small farm animal sanctuary near Calgary when they brought in 4 ponies to be rehomed from a larger horse rescue. As soon as we looked in to her eyes we knew it was LOVE. We didn't even have an acreage at the time, so a good friend of ours Susan did and said she could keep her for us until we did. She is the guardian of the minis and 1 year old cow, who we will introduce in the coming days. .

Time to meet the dogs of Peaceful Pastures.
At our rescue, we have Gaia our Matriarch pitbull of the pack, Snoop Dogg the hyper boy who keeps us busy, then there is Shiva and Vishnu, brother and sister who came to us last year.

After feeding and tucking in all the critters for the night, I stop and just breathe in the beauty I'm surrounded by.
