Hereditary Chief Huy wu qw, Laxele’wuts’aat addresses the Cowichan decision 💬
“There’s just this unarguable history, written by the colonial people of the day, that reinforces what our Elders have always said.” — Hereditary Chief Huy wu qw, Laxele’wuts’aat.
The Cowichan decision has become a province-wide discussion about land and property rights. Hereditary Chief Huy wu qw, Laxele’wuts’aat adds to the discussion, explaining that the Cowichan decision actually protects property rights — rather than the opposite, as political and social media commentary has led some to believe. 🌿
