What a fantastic start to the museum season last weekend!
So many people came together to help move everything from delicate glass artifacts and filing cabinets to horse harnesses and even a 500-pound, 100+ year-old upright piano. This incredible community spirit will help make for a productive season as we continue building and completing displays, with the goal of having many ready for visitors by August.
A heartfelt thank you to the many volunteers who pitched in, through both sunshine and rain. The Grade 5/6 class helped beautify the museum grounds with landscaping projects, while others volunteered over several days to keep the momentum going.
We are also very grateful to Lorraine Skinner for supplying muffins, juice, and cookies that helped keep everyone energized throughout the work.
It is difficult to adequately express our appreciation to the supportive and enthusiastic helpers who generously gave their time and effort: Stephen Stuckless, Bev Giggs, Dave Ness, Tracy Smith, Branson Smith, Grayson Smith, Chris Chapman, Aidan Smith, Lucas Snow, Arnold Seim, Allan Skinner, Aaron Gramlich, Christine Smith, Val Gramlich, Nancy Goede, Darryl Goede, and the Grade 5/6 class of DFCS - Zack, Brinley, Amaya, Logan, Caleigh, Zoey, Teag, Zane, Gunner, Everly, Dekker, Kenzie and Tess.
Thank you all for helping preserve and celebrate our community's history!
