PEI Wildlife Conservation Fund The Wildlife Conservation Fund provides funding for the protection and enhancement of wildlife and wildlife habitats on PEI.

https://www.princeedwardisland.ca/en/information/environment-energy-and-climate-action/angling-resources-and-information-centre The Prince Edward Island Wildlife Conservation Fund was created in 1998 to provide funding for the protection and enhancement of wildlife and wildlife habitats in Prince Edward Island. Money for the Fund comes from a contribution made once per year by each provincially licensed angler, hunter and trapper, and from the sale of conservation licence plates.

Island residents are invited to take part in the next phase of public engagement on the future of land use in Prince Edward Island.

Engagement will run from February 17 to March 20, 2026, and will help the province understand Islandersโ€™ priorities as PEI grows and changes.

Islanders can participate in several ways:

Applications are accepted online only through the Community Foundation of Prince Edward Island's online application portal from now, through to February 9th, at 5:00pm Atlantic.

๐Ÿ‘‰A portion of each angling license purchase comes to the PEI Wildlife Conservation Fund, which helps support more than 50 wildlife conservation projects each year, preserving PEI's natural heritage!

Exciting News from Island Trails!

We are thrilled to introduce the Island Trails Scholarship, established in 2024 through the Community Foundation of PEI! This scholarship is designed to support the next generation of environmental stewards who are passionate about trails, conservation, and the great outdoors.

Are you a PEI resident with a demonstrated interest in trail development for non-motorized use? Are you pursuing environmental science, outdoor recreation, conservation, or a related field of study at a Canadian post-secondary institution? This scholarship could be for you!

Preference will be given to applicants with volunteer experience in trail work, particularly with Island Trails, local community trail groups, Island Nature Trust, Nature Conservancy, watershed groups, and other organizations that protect and enhance our natural spaces.

By supporting students who are committed to protecting and enhancing our environment, Island Trails is helping to foster a new generation of environmental leaders.
