When choosing our bikes, you not only get a ride, you’re also supporting youth mental health on the Island! All our bikes are donated by generous Islanders or brought in by the local authorities after going unclaimed. Our team of participants then refurbish them (under the guidance of our expert bike tech) to road-worthiness, while building confidence, essential repair skills and practice responsibility, all while contributing back to the community.

Being a non-profit, we price all of our bikes affordably, even partially or fully subsidizing bikes for folks who need a hand. Here at REACH, we believe everyone deserves access to affordable transportation.

On top of our affordable prices, we are big advocates of bike safety and riding responsibly.
•We urge our customers to always wear a helmet for every ride, no matter the length of their trip,
•Having proper biking equipment, a.k.a., a bell and front and rear lights for alerting and being visible on the road,
•Importance of wearing reflective or bright clothing to be seen when 
•Knowing and respecting traffic laws and always staying alert of their surroundings.
•Having a bike lock for added security.

🚲 Staff Spotlight: Meet Humberto, Our Bike Coach! 🔧
In celebration of Bike Week, we're spotlighting the people behind the pedals!
 
Meet Humberto, a passionate cyclist, skilled bike mechanic, and dedicated coach here at the Reach Foundation.
 
Humberto’s love for cycling started the moment his brother gifted him a vintage 1960s Raleigh bike. “It felt like I was free for the great adventure and everything and anything was possible." As a kid, Humberto grabbed his father’s tools and taught himself how to adjust the bike’s complex braking system!
 
He honed his skills working at Action Bikes in London from 1999 to 2002, and later, at MacQueen's Cycles and then Ted’s Bike Studio. Along the way, he built his expertise working alongside professionals and learning from every opportunity that came his way.
 
In January 2025, Humberto joined the Reach Foundation as a Bike Shop Supervisor. He now shares his passion and knowledge with our participants, teaching them how to take apart old bikes and rebuild them into safe, functional rides. Through this hands-on work, our participants gain valuable skills and confidence—all while contributing to increasing community access to affordable and eco-friendly transportation.
 
Whether it’s restoring bikes or guiding young people on their journey back to work and education, Humberto brings energy, compassion, and craftsmanship to everything he does.
 
We’re proud to have Humberto on our team—and even prouder to feature him during Bike Week as we celebrate the power of cycling to connect, teach, and transform! 🚴‍♂️💚
