The Charlottetown Ringette Coach of the Year Award is a new award this season, presented annually to an individual who demonstrates exceptional leadership, dedication, and commitment to the development of athletes and the sport of ringette.

This year, the Charlottetown Ringette Coach of the Year Award is proudly presented to Dylan Taylor by Charlottetown Ringette President Dennis Hogan.

As the coach of the U14 Charlottetown Taylor team, Dylan consistently demonstrates what youth sport should be about: teamwork, development, confidence, and fun. He emphasizes team play and ensures that every player understands the importance of supporting one another on and off the ice. His coaching style encourages players to work together, learn the game, and celebrate each other’s successes.

Through his leadership, Dylan Taylor has created an environment where athletes feel respected, supported, and inspired to give their best effort. His dedication to fair play, development, and positive coaching makes him a truly deserving recipient of the Coach of the Year Award.

The Charlottetown Ringette Official of the Year Award is a new award this season, presented annually to an individual who demonstrates excellence in officiating, along with a strong commitment to fairness, integrity, and the development of the sport of ringette.

This year, the Charlottetown Ringette Official of the Year Award is proudly presented to Alan Gordon by Charlottetown Ringette President Dennis Hogan.

Alan has been a dedicated and reliable official in ringette for over 20 years, consistently demonstrating professionalism, confidence, and a strong understanding of the game. Officiating across multiple age divisions, he plays a vital role in ensuring games are safe, fair, and enjoyable for all participants. His presence is widely recognized by players and parents alike, reflecting both his years of dedication and the respect he has built over time.

Without officials like Alan, our programs simply would not be able to operate. His contributions are essential in providing athletes with the opportunity to participate and grow within the sport. His commitment and passion for officiating have had a meaningful impact on our association, and his efforts do not go unnoticed.

The Charlottetown Ringette Volunteer of the Year Award is a new award this season, presented annually to an individual who demonstrates outstanding dedication, commitment, and passion for the sport of ringette, making a lasting impact on our athletes and community.

This year, the Charlottetown Ringette Volunteer of the Year Award is proudly presented to Mia Gallant by President Dennis Hogan.

Mia has been an integral part of our association this season, generously giving her time and energy to support our programs both on and off the ice. From assisting at every Fall and Spring Power Rings session, to supporting U10–U14 on-ice evaluations at the start of the season, to her leadership as an assistant coach with a U12 Charlottetown house league team, Mia continues to mentor and guide young players across our association.

Her contributions have helped create a positive and welcoming environment for everyone involved in Charlottetown Ringette. This is evident in the excitement of younger players when they see her step on the ice and the smiles she brings as she encourages them.

Congratulations, Mia, and thank you for everything you do for Charlottetown Ringette!

The Olivia Rodd Memorial Award was established in memory of Olivia, who started playing ringette in U10 with very little skating ability and knowledge of the sport. She worked hard at every practice and rose to the occasion at every game while always having a smile on her face. This award recognizes a first year ringette player in U10 who, like Olivia, is dedicated, determined and always smiling: Ellie Matheson!

“Ellie has shown up no matter how tired or sore she was, fought through bumps and bruises and given everything she has to ringette. Ellie started as a forward, and then one day she was asked to try Defense and found her place. She has been a friend to not only her team, but others, often making a new friend from opposing teams, or even just stopping on the ice when they fall to ask if they are okay.”

We were honoured to have Olivia’s family in attendance this evening, along with Charlottetown Ringette President, Dennis Hogan to present this award to Ellie.

The Kerrilynn McInnis Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually by Charlottetown Ringette to a player who demonstrates a strong commitment to the sport, in memory of a special young lady.

This year, the Kerrilynn McInnis Memorial Scholarship is awarded to Marley David and presented by Charlottetown Ringette President Dennis Hogan.

Marley has been a part of Charlottetown Ringette for 13 years. In addition to her time as a player, she has taken on meaningful roles as both a coach and an official within the association. Over the past three seasons, she has served as an assistant coach with a house league team while continuing to play at both the house league and high performance levels. As an official, Marley continues to contribute to the game in a vital role, demonstrating leadership, accountability, and a deep understanding of the sport.

In her application essay, Marley shares how ringette has shaped her life by instilling a strong sense of community, and how officiating and coaching allow her to stay connected and give back to the sport.

The Charlottetown Ringette community is proud to present Marley David with the Kerri Lynn McInnis Memorial Scholarship, and we wish her all the best in her future educational endeavours.
