Check out our Artmobile Schedule for September! This month, you can find us at the Charlottetown Library, the Breadalbane Library, and the Holland College - Prince of Wales Campus Library.

The Artmobile is a free, travelling event where everyone is welcome. These events are aimed at arts sector workers, and folks for whom art and creativity play a major part of their lives.

Choose from the available art supplies, or bring your own work in progress!
Come to create, chat, seek advice, and get inspired with your community.

The Artmobile events are sponsored by the City of Charlottetown through the City's Arts and Culture Project and Event Assistance Program.

"Open Office Hours" in Alberton were a real highlight, with great conversations at the Arts and Heritage Centre with the indomitable Allan and Isabel. Thanks to Jordan with Develop West Prince for making the time to talk culture and to Arlene for the welcome at the Alberton Museum, with is a real gem of PEI's Community Museums Association in a town that cares about its history.

Jane's next Open Office Hours will take place on Tuesday, September 1st, at Kings Playhouse in Georgetown, Town of Three Rivers. Please plan to drop by.

The most recent "Open Office Hours" with Culture Summerside was a great day, with good conversations at Lefurgey Centre. Jane and the team highly recommend visiting the "Women's Works" exhibit at Eptek Art & Culture Centre and taking some time with art on the walls of Summerside Rotary Library.
Did you know that all the open office hours are made possible by rural transit and organized around the T3 Transit schedule? Catch Jane on Thursday, August 20th getting off the bus in Alberton and hanging out at the Alberton Heritage Centre between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Another special outdoor Artmobile in Orlebar Park, supported by TD Park People Grants! Join us Wednesday, August 12, at 4:00 in Orlebar Park to make cyanotype prints with Sarah Nicole Dart, or to explore other kinds of art-making with neighbours and friends. More event links and details in the comments. Artmobile programming is supported the City of Charlottetown.

Jane and Noah from our team were very happy to be part of this Working Group for a Livable Income meeting with MPs Kent MacDonald (Cardigan, PE) and Karina Gould (Burlington, ON). Guaranteed basic income would be good for creative careers!

Yesterday the Working Group for a Livable Income had a very congenial and productive meeting with local MP Kent MacDonald and Karina Gould, MP for Burlington. They asked good questions and made suggestions about advancing support for a basic income demonstration program that would start in PEI.

Grateful for respectful, intelligent and passionate conversations about how we can make sure everyone in Canada has enough. Thank to the members of WGLI who were able to attend.

Thank you to the Black Cultural Society of PEI for Emancipation Day events in Charlottetown today, reminding us that remembering history and understanding culture includes remembering the history of enslavement and overcoming dehumanization with a celebration of human diversity and creativity. (Shout-out to Elizabeth, staffing the welcome and registration table!)

A lovely day holding open office hours in St. Peters Bay and joining the Artmobile at Mount Stewart Library!
Happy to be welcomed by Meaghan at St. Peter's Courthouse Theatre & Museum. August shows at the Courthouse include Matt Wright - The Peekaboo Tour featuring Heidi Brander on August 13 and Roving Picture Shows and Island Jazz presenting Tartuffe & The Floorwalker on August 21.
Something else to check out from St. Peters Bay is songwriter Andrea MacDonald's excellent Artists on Art podcast: https://artistsonartpod.com We didn't get to see Andrea at the Bay - but we met her on the bus on her way to work in Charlottetown!

Open office hours with CreativePEI coming up July 28th in eastern PEI! Drop in on Jane at St Peters Bay Courthouse Theatre from 9:00-12:00 or at the Artmobile at Mt. Stewart Library after 1:00 until 3:00.

In the meantime, here are some photos from the recent Open Office Hours in beautiful Souris, where Jane saw folks from the Souris Historium in the Matthew McLean Building, Provincial Visitor Information Centre - Souris, CDS - Souris Career Development Services, Artisans on Main Souris, and Souris Show Hall!

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Nature Mandala Workshop last Wednesday, and a big thanks to Hannah for facilitating the event! It was a lovely, sunny day and we had so much fun making art with natural materials that were brought in or collected around Orlebar Park. 🌻🌸🌿

If you didn’t catch us this time, we’ll be back at Orlebar Park on August 12th for a cyanotype printing workshop! Until then, keep an eye on our website and socials for upcoming Artmobiles - next up, Charlottetown Library @ 10:30am on July 15th! 🎨

Happy Pride 🏳️‍🌈! As celebrations across PEI ramp up, we hope to see you Wednesday, July 15th, at 4pm for a very special Artmobile! Local artist Christina Patterson .patterson.art will be joining us to lead a DIY button-making workshop. Join in the workshop, bring along a current project, or start something fresh with materials available to make bracelets, signs, paintings, or whatever else your heart desires 🩷🤍🩵. This is a free, all-ages event intended for members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, with friends and family welcome to tag along!

This event is being held at the CreativePEI office, on the 3rd floor of the BDC Building (119 Kent St. #330, Charlottetown). The building is wheelchair accessible from the main doors on Kent St., and through a ramp connection on the second floor via Queen Parkade (look for signs on the outer stairs advertising Hojo's when parking). There are also gender-neutral bathrooms on our floor.
