PEI Crafts Council

Our AGM was held on June 2nd at the Crafts Council second floor space. We had 35 members attending. We served delicious treats and at 7:00pm began our event. Charlene Miller presided masterfully over the board elections and we now have a full slate of directors a d all positions are filled🙏. After reviewing the yearly activities we gave out awards. The Community Supporter Award was given to Yvonne Duivenvoorden - Alley Street Clay Club for the amazing space she created for potters to be able to learn and grow, this awards was presented by .dewar.jellybeancreations that also nominated Yvonne. Our lister Trophy Award for Outstanding island artisan was presented to Jane Whitten. Nominated and presented by Arlene MacAusland. And to conclude the evening, The PEI Crafts Council was awarded The Craft Alliance industry leader Supporter Award. from came all the way from Halifax to present this award to us. We are very grateful for the recognition and the wonderful community of crafts makers that we get to work with every day.

On Thursday June 4th at 6:00 PM at 98 Water street, Lindsey Ross will be holding a free session on Accessibility basics for social media. This session will show how small practical changes can make creative content easier for more people to enjoy. Lindsey will walk participants through real example, simple techniques and quick demos that fit into the way artists already share their content online. The Charlottetown Arts & Culture Awards event was such a moving evening and getting nominated Carol Horne and then receiving the award was a very lovely surprise. We can’t thank enough for this great honour and we look forward to continue collaborating with the city and championing the arts here on PEI. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

We feel very grateful and honoured to be receiving the 2026 Industry Leader/ Supporter award. We work tirelessly to promote the PEI craft maker community and answer their needs. We are very lucky to have an organization like Craft Alliance to help guide us on our journey navigating these complicated times and offer our members great opportunities to exhibit and sell their handmade crafts in Canada and abroad. 🙏🙏🙏
