The PEI Fight for Affordable Housing will be joined virtually by academic and filmmaker Brian Doucette for two screenings of his documentary, Thinking Beyond the Market. This film takes you across Canada to learn about policies, programs and projects that are already happening and already having a positive impact on addressing the housing crisis, some of which was filmed in PEI. Following the film, Brian will be available to answer questions and facilitate a short discussion.

There will be a screening in the Family Room of the Summerside Rotary Library at 6 PM on Tuesday, October 13th and a screening in the auditorium of the Charlottetown Library at 6 PM on Wednesday October 14th. 🍁 October is Occupational Therapy Month in Canada!

This month, The IUOE Local 942 proudly recognizes our members who work in occupational therapy and the important difference they make in people's lives.

Occupational therapists help people regain their independence, overcome challenges, build confidence and participate in everyday activities that matter most. Whether helping someone recover after in injury, adapt to changing abilities or return to the routines they value, their work makes a meaningful and lasting difference.

To our Occupational Therapist Members, thank you for your compassion, dedication and commitment to helping others live fuller, more independent lives! Your work matters and we're proud to recognize you! ❤

Happy Occupational Therapy Month!

🧡 September 30th | National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🧡

Tomorrow, our Local 942 family takes a moment to pause, reflect and remember.

We remember the children who were taken from their families and communities, the survivors who carry those experiences with them and the families who continue to feel the impact of the residential school system today.

As union members, we know that solidarity means more than standing together when it is easy. It means listening to difficult truths, learning from the past, respecting the experiences of others and doing our part too build a future where every child is valued, every family member is respected and every person is treated with dignity.

Wearing orange is one small way to show that we remember. But reconciliation asks more of us than wearing a colour for a day. It asks us to listen, learn and carry that understanding forward.

🧡 Every Child Matters 🧡

The IUOE Local 942 Union Offices will be closed Wednesday September 30th in observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We will return to regular hours on Thursday October 1st.

Please take a moment to remember, learn and to reflect on what reconciliation means to you.
