Maison Boreal Home Maison Boreal Home is a community organization dedicated to creating a safe, affordable assisted living residence for seniors in the town of Chapleau, ON.

Maison Boréal Home is a proposed seniors’ residence for transitional living. The Maison Boréal Home initiative is a grass-roots movement. The volunteers working on the initiative are Chapleau senior citizens including a regional member from Foleyet. Most of us are retired nurses, school teachers, and business people. We represent both the English and French seniors’ clubs of Chapleau and area. We

saw a need in our community for transitional care for seniors and formed the Transitional Living in Chapleau Committee (TLCC) to organize our efforts to build a seniors’ residence in Chapleau. We surveyed the community to establish the need for a seniors’ residence, and conducted a feasibility study in 2009 to serve as the basis of our project. The feasibility study was funded in part through the support of the Superior East Community Futures Development Corporation. In April 2011, we incorporated and became Maison Boréal Home Inc., and in June of 2012 we received our not-for-profit status as a registered charitable organization.
