Rec House CYN The Rec House CYN strives to provide youth 12-18 with recreational and educational opportunities- in a safe,supportive,drug and alcohol free environment.

The Rec House CYN strives to provide youth 12-18 with recreational and educational opportunities- with an overall goal to help them achieve their full potential in a safe, supportive, drug and alcohol free environment. The Rec House staff promotes a non-judgemental, caring, supportive environment, where confidentiality is one of our main priorities. Funded by the Office of Public Engagement, CYN's provincially provide youth with varied engagement opportunities where youth can:
* develop leadership skills
* learn from/with others from the community
* gain work experience through volunteering
* participate in community projects and recreation activities
* develop citizenship skills
* advance entrepreneurial skills
*obtain career/work information

Hey everyone :)
What a cool event happening on October 27.

We will have pumpkin carving again this year at the library for youth.. It will be great to put your pumpkins on the trail or you for sure can keep them :) A registration poster will be advertised early next week.. stay tuned

🎃👻 Get ready for a little Halloween magic! 👻🎃

The PAB Community Parks & Playgrounds Committee is excited to host our Halloween Pumpkin Trail! 🧡

📅 October 27, 2026
4-5:30 - drop off pumpkins to organizers
6–8 PM - come walk through the trail
and vote on your favourite pumpkins
📍 Christopher’s Path — entrance across from NL Power

🎃 Bring your carved Jack-o’-lantern and help us light up the trail! Pumpkins can be dropped off with event organizers between 4–5:30 PM for a chance to win a prize.

✨ Battery-operated lights or glow sticks only — no candles, please.

📞 Call the Library at 709-695-3471 to register.

🎟️ FREE ADMISSION — DONATIONS GRATEFULLY ACCEPTED
Your support helps us create more community events and activities!

Stay tuned for a youth event at the PAB Public Library, with Rec House CYN, to carve pumpkins. You can bring your pumpkins to help light up the trail, and feel free to come by after the event to bring your pumpkins back home for Halloween!

We can’t wait to see everyone’s creative Jack-o’-lanterns! 🧡🎃🍂

For sexual violence awareness week (September 15-21), in partnership with the Rec House CYN, the centre will be hosting a movie night on Monday, September 21st at 6:30 pm.

We will be showing No One Would Tell (1996), a movie about Stacy, a teen experiencing intimate partner violence (IPV).

This movie is rated TV-14, therefore this will be a 14+ event.

If you would like to join us, please register by calling the centre at (709) 695-7505.
