This Week's Hot Topic: Stay Cool. 😎

As much of Ontario continues to experience extreme heat this summer, we'd like to remind everyone to stay cool, stay hydrated, and take extra precautions when working or spending time outdoors.

Heat-related illnesses can develop quickly, and it can affect anyone, especially for those working in direct sunlight or physically demanding environments.

With wildfire haze also affecting the air quality in parts of the province, additional precautions may be needed. Monitor local air quality conditions, assess the risks to outdoor work, adjust work activities when air quality is poor, and wear appropriate respiratory protection where required. Check the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) before starting your day and plan ahead. If an N95 or equivalent respirator is recommended based on a workplace risk assessment, make sure it fits properly and is worn correctly.

Whether it's the heat or the smoke, a few simple precautions can make all the difference. Stay informed, look out for one another, and make safety your top priority.
