🦶🏽In October 2025, completed 101km barefoot on the for ‘Presence in Nature’ from Singhampton to Kimberley. It took her 29 hours:16min:48sec with a planned finish at our favourite stop !

☀️Back to this past Summer Solstice, June 21 2025, one of our directors on the Board, felt inspired to host and lead a cleanup along Humber Bay Park West, gathering a group of lovely volunteers.

💕Sarah did an outstanding job leading from a place of love and care for our earth! We are grateful for you Sarah - despite suffering an ankle injury only days prior, she still felt the urge to create a nurturing space, while still prioritizing self-care.

👏🏽Thank you to everyone who assists in keeping the Wasteland momentum alive. Thanks to who have been present from the beginnings. TWP events have been in hibernation this summer, but we’ve got some big innovative things coming!

🦭Travel Reflection + Cleanup #134, ghost gear and coastal finds in Nuxalk Territory, BC.

🐋Over the past few days we’ve been absorbing the sounds and smells of the pacific coast - the coupling of mountains and sailboats feels so pleasant on our souls!

⛽️After a mega road trip with willow (🛻), it felt right to enjoy the spring break right here; practicing the art of driving less, shifting our routine less, and instead, slowing down to reconnect with Mother Nature, ourselves and the creator🌎.

☀️This new years rising brought grounding energy. A bald eagle 🦅flew over head a couple times as the fin slap of the local harbour seal echoed across the wharf🦭. After a nourishing breakfast, Savannah found a natural seat moulded into a fallen tree stump. A few moments later she looked down and noticed the waste along the shoreline as the tide slipped away.

🪢It wasn’t long until we had the call to spring into cleanup mode; cutting and collecting all the ghost gear we could spot. Cans, styrofoam, garbage bags, fishing line, and all the coastal finds🌊!

💪🏽☮️It was a peaceful cleanup #134 with roughly 50lbs of collected waste.

In 2024, TWP aims to continue bridging the gap in under-resourced Toronto neighbourhoods who don't have access to green bins! 🗓️ IMPACT SO FAR:
This August - Nov 2023, 470lbs of food scraps were composted and diverted from landfill. This reduced the production of 3,846 net pounds of CO2, saved property management dollars, and targeted the rising cost of foods via tenant discount on local produce from .

January - June 2023: Mentorship program with the and building our partnership with

🍅June 2023: TWP received a $5,000 grant from and to execute a 12-week composting pilot project in Fall 2023 with 15 tenants from our low-income apartment building

🍅August 2023: TWP donated $500 to for processing our buildings Food Waste and hosted tenant info sessions to onboard tenant participation

🍅Aug - Nov 2023: composting pilot tenants received discounts on locally grown, equitable, accessible and affordable produce from

🍅October 2023: TWP became a member of the alumnae steering committee whereby we’ve pitched our pilot project at the small business forum and the national women’s show live from the booth!!

💪🏽In late October we wrapped up the final of the 5 events across the county this season with .

👏🏽Spartan supported the TWP mission as we helped to manage the parking lots, sort cans + bottles for recycling, divert and donate racers unwanted running shoes. Thank you to our family for seeing the value, importance and impact of greening events and for trusting our TWP community to start with small, consistent changes this season!

COMMUNITY IMPACT:
✅ 30 volunteers, 5 events
✅350 pairs of shoes diverted and donated
✅19,425 cans/bottles recycled and diverted from landfill
✅Slow behaviour changes for more earth friendly practices!
