A Taste of the Holidays at Chiefswood & Ruthven Park 🎄
November 28th, December 5th & December 12th

$40 per person includes admission to both historic homes, guided tours, holiday exhibits, and seasonal refreshments.

Celebrate the holiday season with a festive journey through two cherished historic homes, each with its own stories, traditions, and seasonal treats!

Chiefswood National Historic Site
Explore the preserved 1850s home of celebrated Mohawk poet E. Pauline Johnson and her family, decorated for a Victorian Christmas. Enjoy stories of the Johnson family’s legacy, along with seasonal favourites like mincemeat tarts, sugar cookies, mulled c***r, and hot chocolate.

Ruthven Park National Historic Site
Discover the Thompson family’s Christmas traditions inside the historic mansion, complete with period holiday decorations and a special Charles Dickens exhibit featuring A Christmas Carol. Then, settle into the Coach House for freshly baked scones with Ruthven’s homemade clotted cream and jam, paired with your choice of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate.

Bring a bag of non-perishable food items to donate and you’ll be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a prize!

Good to Know

Bring a lawn chair: Seating will be available, but we recommend bringing your own lawn chair if you would like to guarantee a spot for the performances.

Cash & card: There is no ATM or cash-back available on site. Some vendors, including the Canboro Firefighters food vendor, accept cash only. We recommend bringing both cash and card.

Pets: Pets are not permitted at the festival. Service animals are welcome and exempt from this policy.

Stop by on Sunday, August 30 from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM as the Road Runners Car Club celebrates their 70th Anniversary Car Show at Ruthven Park!

Enjoy incredible vintage and classic vehicles, dash plaques, trophies, a 50/50 draw, anniversary T-shirts, museum tours, delicious food, and more. Admission is by donation, with all proceeds supporting Ontario Parents Advocating for Children with Cancer (OPACC).
