Last night the Carman troop helped Communities In Bloom plant the flowers they started near the Carman pool.
Thank you Communities In Bloom for the wonderful opportunity to add some color and nature to Kings Park.

We also celebrated everyone’s accomplishments and hard work with a small wind up at the splash pad and many yummy treats!

Beavers and Cubs are taking time off for the summer and will resume in September.

Scouts will be continuing through out the summer.

Have a wonderful summer enjoying nature!

We held our investiture ceremony for the Beavers as many of them earned a new beaver tail! Each colored beaver tail represents their age in the group. The Beavers also earned a few new badges for some winter and summer skills they have been working hard on. Congratulations to the Beavers!!

Afterwards they worked on a few activities including making a greenhouse. A big thank you to Carman Concrete Ltd for supplying the rocks for us!

Cubs and Scouts went on a hike near Kings park to find a spot to hide a geocache! During this activity we learned about gps and coordinates.
Let’s us know if you find our geocache! (Don’t give away the spot to keep the fun for others)

More great outdoor events to come for the 1st Carman Troop !

Please reach out if your child is interested in our programming, or if you are interesting in becoming a leader!

Last night the Scouts and Cubs took advantage of the calm, beautiful weather to hit up Stephanfield Lake to catch some pike. Between both the boats we caught a total of 7 fish with a few that got away. The kids had a blast with some catching their first and second fish ever!

We have many great activities coming up throughout the summer months. If you or someone you know would like to join scouts feel free to let us know!

It’s been a busy few weeks with the nice weather slowly rolling in, but it’s been equally busy for the Carman Scout troop !

Cubs and Scouts got to participate in a drone demo hosted by Vantage Drones, to learn about different types and professional uses for drones, as well as learning how to pilot. As well this week’s meeting they got to tour Vanderveens' Greenhouses Ltd painted flower pots for Mother’s Day, and learning about proper mattresses for camping.

Beavers have been out in the community lately; visiting the Golden Prairie Arts Council learning about art and the Boyne Regional Library using their seed library and learning about plants. This weeks meeting they went to Carman COOP and learned about the new Canadian food guide, and out on sone hairnets to tour the bakery, and finished off the evening decorating cupcakes.

As the weather gets nicer the troop is able to get outside with nature! We have some fun canoeing and fishing events coming up.

Contact us if your child is interested in checking out our programming, and if you are interested in becoming a leader! This program cannot do adventurous activities without amazing volunteers !

Today the Scouts competed in the 54th annual Klondike Rally. This event founded in Manitoba involves the Scouts pulling a dog sled through the bush and competing in 9-10 different challenges. This year the scouts had to snow shoe, cross a rope bridge with all their gear, build fires, suspend their sled off ground with rope and staves, build a flag pole to name a few.

This event utilizes a ton of scouting skills but more importantly team building. If you have a youth that's interested in joining in on the fun feel free to reach out!
