After a three-year fundraising journey, the Carlyle Community Complex Foundation has reached its $500,000 goal, marking a major milestone for the town’s efforts to enhance local education and recreation facilities.
Jared Riddell, a committee member with the Foundation, described the achievement as “incredibly rewarding,” noting the strong support from surrounding communities, including the RM of 33, RM of 63, and White Bear First Nations.
“Raising $500,000 in such a short period of time is more than just a number,” Riddell said. “It’s a reflection of the countless hours of hard work and the power of a collective effort.”
When asked what contributed most to the campaign’s success, Riddell emphasized the role of the community. “From day one, we had supporters who truly believed in our goal—not just with donations, but by spreading the word, volunteering, and keeping the momentum going,” he said. “Ultimately, it was the people, their belief, their commitment, and their generosity that made all of this possible.”
The funds will support the construction of a new state-of-the-art K-12 school. The extra space will feature an expanded gym, a second mini gym, and larger home economics and industrial arts facilities—benefits that go beyond standard school designs.
While discussions about a joint-use recreation complex are currently on hold, Riddell said finalizing the school’s design is the next step, with plans to put the project out for tender under SaskBuilds. Construction is scheduled for 2026. Meanwhile, the town will continue prioritizing the maintenance and improvement of existing recreation and cultural facilities.
Riddell expressed gratitude to everyone involved. “To our volunteers, sponsors, and donors, thank you just doesn’t seem like enough. Your time, generosity, and belief in what we’re doing really made all of this possible. We hope everyone shares in the pride of what we’ve accomplished together.”
