Activity Coordinator - Chinook Lodge
The Chinook Foundation is seeking a compassionate, creative, and organized Activity Coordinator to lead activities and wellness programming for residents at Chinook Lodge. This role is responsible for creating meaningful opportunities that promote engagement, connection, and quality of life for seniors.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Site Manager, the Activity Coordinator plans, coordinates, and delivers a variety of activities, special events, entertainment, and volunteer programs. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, adaptable, and passionate about enriching the lives of residents. This is a full-time position with benefits and a pension plan.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and facilitate engaging activities, events, outings, and holiday celebrations.
• Coordinate volunteers, entertainers, and community partnerships.
• Develop and promote monthly activity calendars.
• Encourage resident participation and social engagement.
• Manage activity supplies and program budgets.
• Maintain approved social media content showcasing resident activities.
• Support resident orientation and ongoing involvement in lodge life.
Qualifications
• Activity Coordinator Certificate or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience working with seniors or in Activity programming is an asset.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Creative, energetic, and able to adapt activities to resident interests and abilities.
• Comfortable using computers, social media, and audio-visual equipment.
• First Aid/CPR, WHMIS, and Occupational Health & Safety training are assets.
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Check required.

Casual Housekeeper Needed – Chinook Lodge- Cardston Alberta
We’re looking for a focused, energetic, and dependable individual to join our team in a casual housekeeping role. Our lodge is home to wonderful seniors who deserve a clean, safe, and welcoming environment—and we’re seeking someone who takes pride in creating that for them.
What we’re looking for:
• A motivated self‑starter who can stay on task without constant supervision.
• Someone who is reliable, punctual, and committed to high standards.
• A positive, energetic presence who can interact respectfully with residents while staying focused on assigned tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to follow established cleaning routines.
• A team player who communicates clearly and respectfully
What the role includes:
• General housekeeping duties (sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing, laundry, etc.)
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
• Supporting the team by stepping in for casual and last-minute call-ins.

Chinook Choir Hits the Road! 🎶

Our newly formed Chinook Choir has officially begun meeting weekly at Chinook Lodge — and this week we took our music on a little fieldtrip!

We visited Temple City Villa and performed a selection of songs for their residents. It was such a joyful afternoon filled with singing, smiles, and even a few familiar faces in the audience. Our residents loved the chance to share their music, connect with friends, and enjoy a wonderful outing together.

We’re so proud of this growing group and excited for all the harmony, friendship, and fun still ahead. 💛🎵

Today at Chinook Lodge, we gathered together for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to honour survivors, remember the children who never came home, and deepen our understanding of the path toward healing.

We were truly grateful to welcome Ramona Big Head as our special guest speaker. Ramona shared a powerful and heartfelt testimony of her experiences in the Indian Residential School system on the Blood Reserve, helping our residents understand the meaning behind Orange Shirt Day and why this day matters for all of us. She spoke with such clarity, courage, and compassion — and even blessed us with a beautiful song that filled the room with emotion.

Ramona was an engaging, generous, and unforgettable presence. Our residents were deeply moved, and we sincerely appreciate her taking the time to spend the afternoon with our community.
