DAY 5 — ROTO 8 🌿✨
Closing Day | Phase 2 Complete

Today we closed Phase 2 of Camp Aftermath’s one-year journey.

A day filled with connection, reflection, and gratitude.

Sadness that our time together in retreat has come to an end, and excitement for what lies ahead in Phase 3.

This group showed courage, honesty, and heart all week.

Now the real work continues as we carry this momentum forward into the next chapter of healing and purpose.

Proud of you, Roto 8.

DAY 4 — ROTO 8 🐾❤️
Volunteerism Day | Ottawa Humane Society

Today our participants stepped into service, the heart of Camp Aftermath’s mission.

We spent the day volunteering at , supporting their work through hands-on help and a donation of $1,700.

From sorting supplies to cleaning and caring for the space, our team showed how purpose and healing grow through giving back.

Proud of this group and the impact they made today.

DAY 3 — ROTO 8 ❄️✨

Today we focused on rewriting our stories and choosing how we move forward with strength and intention.

We shifted from emotional release to physical renewal through Reiki, hypnotherapy, chiropractic care, cold therapy, and breathwork.

Mind, body, and spirit, moving together toward healing.

Today we explored our stories, from before service, through our time in uniform, to who we are now.

We reflected on lessons learned and began reshaping our journeys into origin stories of strength.

Between June 7–8, Camp Aftermath proudly took part in the National Veteran Volunteerism Action Plan Working Group, hosted by True Patriot Love Foundation and chaired by our long-time supporter, Chris Ayotte from The Northern Sentinels Podcast.

Our CEO Farid Yaghini and Chief Mental Health Expert Dr. Whelan contributed to national strategies aimed at making structured volunteerism a cornerstone of healing and purpose for Canadian veterans.

Camp Aftermath has been doing just that for over 7 years — blending mental health oversight with trauma-informed volunteerism to support long-term recovery and community reintegration.

Grateful to One9 for hosting this event and for all the veteran-led organizations paving the way forward.
