🇨🇴 A Colombian flavour to close our Lions Club season! 🦁
Tonight was our last Canso Lions Club meeting before the summer break, and we wanted to share a small gesture of appreciation with everyone who attended: patacones, a traditional Colombian snack made with green plantain and cheese.
🔪🍌The process was part of the fun! We peeled the plantains, cut them into chunks, fried them, pressed them flat, fried them again until crispy, and served each plate with Halloumi-style cheese — the closest cheese we have found here to Colombian Costeño cheese.
🧀This little taste of Colombia was possible thanks to a new product now available in town: since June, the Canso Coop has been selling plantains and Halloumi-style cheese. That means everyone in Canso now has the chance to try preparing patacones at home!
