A New Chapter for Union House ❤️🎨

We’re so excited to finally share the newest additions to Union House!

These stunning pieces were created by incredibly talented local artist Kelly Harnish, and we couldn’t be happier with how they’ve transformed our living room. They have completely exceeded our expectations.

When we began searching for artwork, we knew we wanted something that reflected the heart of Union House while celebrating the rich history of Canso. Kelly brought that vision to life in the most meaningful way.

If you look closely at the piece above the fireplace, you’ll discover something truly special. The silhouette of the young boy is made up of hundreds of tiny photographs telling the story of Canso's past—including a hidden image of **Union House** itself. Every glance reveals another piece of local history, making it a work of art you can admire again and again.

Supporting local artists while sharing the stories of our community with every guest is something we’re incredibly proud of. Thank you, Kelly, for creating artwork that doesn’t just decorate our walls—it tells the story of the place we call home.

What an incredible evening celebrating the grand opening of Taps & Tides! 🎉🌊

Seeing our waterfront come alive with laughter, great food, music, and so many familiar faces was something truly special. It's nights like these that remind us what an amazing community we're lucky to call home.

A huge congratulations to Brandi and Trent for making this dream a reality. Wishing Taps & Tides nothing but success as they begin this exciting new chapter!

And a very special thank you to Kevin G OHandley and Brian Bouchie for providing an unforgettable soundtrack to the evening. Your talent, energy, and incredible performances were the cherry on top of an already perfect night. 🎶🍒

We've often talked about having a stack of professionally printed welcome letters ready to go. It would certainly save time, and you'd never have to decipher our handwriting or overlook the occasional spelling mistake. 😊

But then we think... every guest who stays with us is different, and we love adding a little personal touch. Writing each note by hand gives us the chance to welcome you by name, wish you a wonderful stay, or mention something special about your visit. It may not be perfect, but it's written with care.

So we're curious...
