With fall migration on the go we are entering what we call “Raptor season”. Our birds of prey are heavily hunting to build up energy for migration. During this time of year we get the most intakes and a good portion of them need to be overwinter as they are to injured to make release before migration.
Our feed reserves get depleted very quickly! There are ways you can help us. Mouse traps in your house and garages constantly making catches???? If you have a poison Free property put them in a coffee can in your freezer and when you have a few drop them off to us!
Make a live mouse trap in your “out buildings” using grain and a five gallon pail (google gives lots of ideas), we will very happily take live ones! We love poison and bullet free moles and gophers too!
But it SUPER important to not have poison in your yard!!!!
Don’t want to play with rodents but still want to help? Donations are always gratefully received and receipts given.
Raptors are the most expensive animal to rehabilitate they average 8 dollars a day to feed one bird!
