The forecast might be frightful this Friday, but we’ve got you covered — literally! 😅
The Canning Lions Hall will be open for indoor trick-or-treating, and everyone’s invited to join the fun! 🍬

Bring the kids to fill their treat bags — or bring your own candy and set up a spot to hand some out! It’s a cozy, dry space to hang out, see your neighbours, and enjoy a community-style HallOween together. 🦁🎃

🎶 Live Music at the Canning Lions Hall! 🎶

Join us for an incredible evening of ragtime, old-time, jazz, and country music with Lotus Wight, Mike T. Kerr, and local guest Zakary Miller. Presented by Big Turnip Records.

The Lions canteen will be serving hot eats and snacks, and the cash bar will feature local products from Raging Crow Distillery, Pay Day Cider, and Sea Level Brewing.

Thursday November 6th, 7pm $10 at door

Lotus Wight plays banjo, guitar, jaw-harp and contra-bass harmoniphoneum. His original songs are celebrated as timeless works of art. Wight’s repertoire of old songs from the American cannon is painstakingly curated to surprise and delight, and he captivates his audience with humor and music.

Mike T. Kerr is a wild guitar player and ambitious songwriter of Canadian heritage and American citizenship. During his time at Berklee College of Music in Boston and in over 10 years of performing, he’s lived his life through many historical and contemporary musical styles. Always curious to dig up not only a song’s history, but the shape of the world at the time, Mike plays passionately and openly while interpreting the great guitar players of the past, primarily across the country blues and jazz genres. A Danny Gatton lick or Django Reinhardt tune is never far from his fingertips. When it comes to his own songwriting, Mike writes storytelling ballads inspired by old movies and current events.
