CORE is happy to be providing scholarships to 15 students at Namche Community School. These kids are mostly the children of people from other places who have come to work in hotels and lodges on the trekking route to Everest. Three are from ‘Dalit’ families (so-called untouchables) who have lived for 3-4 generations in Namche working as metal-workers or tailors.

Thanks to your support, these children gain not only schooling but dignity and opportunity, rising beyond circumstance toward a brighter Himalayan future. Donate today to empower the next generation.

Like Nisha, many children are now moving into higher grades with support that is changing their lives.

Nisha has been part of the program since Class 4 and is now in Class 11. With access to extra classes, she is excelling in school and even secured first position in her exams. She dreams of becoming a nurse and is continuing her studies with confidence.

Today, around 60% of supported students are in Classes 8–12, where education becomes more demanding and costly, often requiring extra tuition, food, and even hostel accommodation, as some schools only offer basic schooling—resulting in children to relocate to continue their studies.

Like Nisha, many students are now reaching higher education—but they cannot continue this journey alone.
