In April 2026, Rotarians Mark Saar, Karen Greene, and Martin Bean led a team of 12 young adults to San Antonio del Mar, Mexico, to build a home for a mother and her two young daughters through the Homes of Hope program.

Over three days, the team worked side-by-side with the family, creating not just a home, but hope and opportunity. Participants returned with new friendships, leadership skills, and a deeper appreciation for service.

Thank you to everyone who supports Rotary fundraising initiatives and the Youth Avenue of Service, making these incredible experiences possible.

Road to Valour Ride - Garry McCracken
At our Rotary breakfast meeting June 10th, we had a special guest tell us about his epic fundraising bike ride supporting the mental health of veterans, first responders and their families through donations to Wounded Warriors Canada. On a one night stay in Canmore, Garry and his small cycling team were hosted at Canmore Rotarian Suzan Shellian-Frey and her husband Gord's property featuring a backyard bonfire. He left Vancouver on his 75th Birthday May 21, 2026 and is planning to arrive in Winnipeg on July 1st, Canada's Birthday. Garry was impressed by our Rotary Club's mental health initiative, championed by Canmore Rotarian Lawrence Nyman, to promote the mental wellness self-care tool kit. To learn more about his ride, and how to donate visit www.theroadtovalour.ca Canmore Rotarian Glen Grossmith joined Garry for a brief ride through Canmore and donated his Happy Bucks at today's meeting to Wounded Warriors Canada, in honour of Garrry's fundraising efforts. Next stop Cochrane, AB.
