We are always so impressed when adopters go the extra mile to show just how committed they are to changing the lives of our shelter residents, and Fozzie and Jasmine’s new family did exactly that! We are incredibly confident that these two lovely girls have found a loving, thoughtful, and fun-filled forever home.

We are especially excited for Fozzie, one of the shyer members of the Teddy Bear Litter, to head home with a built-in, confident kitty sister like Jasmine to show her the ropes and help her navigate her big new world. And for Jasmine, our playful and energetic young gal, having a ready-made companion to wrestle, romp, and get into a little mischief with is the perfect match.

We truly couldn’t have asked for a better family for these deserving girls, and we can’t wait to see all the adventures that await them together.

🎉 Congrats Daisy! 🎉

This adoption update is more than a celebration, it’s a reminder of why we do what we do, and why we believe wholeheartedly that there is a home out there for every animal.

Daisy came to us as a transfer from another shelter, after being adopted and returned more than once. Exuberant, endlessly loving, and full of a zest for life like no other, Daisy brought joy everywhere she went and won the heart of everyone who met her.

But day by day, month by month, and eventually year by year, Daisy watched other dogs find their families while she waited. She had her challenges: her excitement on leash, her size and strength, and an instinct to protect the things she loved most. But over nearly three years in our care, we worked tirelessly with Daisy to build her skills, strengthen her trust, and help her become the incredible companion we always knew she could be. And like a daisy flower, she blossomed!

Then, finally, an application came! Her new family had breed experience and immediately saw Daisy for who she truly was. A beautiful connection formed almost instantly, and after several meet-and-greets, the day finally came for Daisy to go home. But that wasn’t the end of Daisy’s story.

After spending nearly her entire life in shelters, and three years with us, the BVSPCA had become home to Daisy. Leaving was a much bigger adjustment than anyone expected. There were hard days, big emotions, and moments when we wondered if Daisy might come back to us.

But her family didn’t give up. For more than two months, they have chosen Daisy, every single day. They have given her patience, understanding, consistency, and, most importantly, the unconditional love she has always deserved, and allowed her to adjust at her own pace.

Daisy dog is now thriving and improving every day. Daisy loves unconditionally, and now, she has a family who loves her right back. The greatest love stories are always worth the wait 🐾🧡

Every adoption we see at the Centre is special in its own way, but we are especially touched by the stories of adopters who look beyond shy or fearful first impressions and recognize the wonderful, deserving companions waiting beneath the surface. We are so grateful that someone saw Monica’s potential despite her reserved behaviour at the shelter. We have no doubt that this beautiful girl will blossom into a cherished member of her new family and grow more confident with each day of the love, patience, and affection she receives!

The Bow Valley SPCA was honoured to celebrate The Mut Hut Emporium’s 20th Anniversary with them on Saturday, July 25th!

The Mut Hut provided delicious treats, goodies, human and canine cake, hot dogs, awesome pup-led activities, and plenty more to get everyone in the celebratory spirit. We are so grateful to their team for choosing to support the BVSPCA via donations collected throughout the event. As the cherry on top, $392 was raised for the Bow Valley SPCA during the event!

Adoptable pup Bluey even stopped by and took part in the painting, pup cups, and was thoroughly spoiled!

Congratulations to The Mut Hut Emporium on their 20 wonderful years providing grooming, pet baking, and accessories to the beloved pets of the Bow Valley. We can’t wait to see what successes the next 20 years will bring!

These spunky girlies were absolute fan favourites with volunteers and visitors alike during their short stay at the shelter! Full of curiosity, energy, and endless kitten antics, Yogi and Boss kept everyone entertained from the moment they arrived. We're thrilled that they're heading home together to continue their grand adventure side by side. They’re sure to bring laughter, love, and countless hours of entertainment to their new family, and as an added bonus, they’ve gained a wonderful big brother, too! Hooray for Boss and Yogi as they begin this exciting new chapter together.

That’s a wrap on the Spring 2026 Session of dog classes at the Bow Valley SPCA!

Heya, I'm Casey!I'm a sweet and petite girl with gorgeous lynx-point markings and a whole lot of wiggly personality packed into a tiny package. Before arriving in the Bow Valley, I went through quite a lot, but you'd never guess it from the happy, energetic cat I am today!I'm playful, curious, and always on the go. Whether I'm chasing my favourite ball, racing around the house at top speed, or dramatically skidding across the floor, I know how to keep life entertaining. I'm a real hoot to have around! I enjoy the company of other cats, but don't expect me to spend all day cuddled up with my roommates.
