UPDATE: Several weeks ago, a section of grass trail between the pump house and the biathlon trails was washed out and destroyed. The has since begun preliminary clearing and work is underway! Be aware that this small portion of trail is still unusable (...obviously...) but the lower parallel section is available.

Our tree wrapping project is complete (for now)! Thank you SO much to the volunteers who came out to help with this important project. We are delighted by the efficiency of those who came to help and we ran out of fencing much sooner than anticipated! We are hopeful that this will make an impact on the health of our trail system as the fencing will help to protect some key trees from beaver damage. As always, we are so grateful to our volunteers and an extra thanks to Brian Krushel and Greg King for heading up this project.

Hello Stoney Creek trail users!

Unfortunately, our first attempt at tree wrapping to protect from beaver damage was delayed as our fencing supply did not arrive on time. However, we’ve got it now!

We’d love your help! Whether you’re a ski club member or simply someone who cares about our trails, everyone is welcome. Bring a tree-loving friend and join us for a session (or two!). Brian Krushel and Greg King will be leading sessions on the following *updated* dates and times (with potential for more sessions to be added):

Tuesday, May 26 1:00-3:30pm
Wednesday, May 27 9:00-12:00pm and 1:00-3:30pm
Thursday, May 28 9:00-12:00pm and 1:00-3:30pm

You can sign up for a session (or two!) at volunteersignup.org/YLQDJ

We just wanted to take a moment to extend a huge thank you to everyone who volunteered at our recent casino fundraiser in partnership with Edmonton Nordic and St. Albert Nordic as part of the SISU group.

Casino fundraisers are one of the Camrose Ski Club’s most important sources of revenue — typically bringing in around $25,000 for our club — and they simply would not happen without volunteers willing to give up their time (and sleep!) to work some very late-night shifts.

Your willingness to step up and help directly supports programming, equipment, trail development, and opportunities for our athletes and families throughout the season. We truly appreciate it.

Thank you again for supporting the club and helping keep Nordic skiing strong in our community!

You’ve probably noticed the increasing number of felled trees along Stoney Creek in recent years. An expanding beaver population has caused significant damage to parts of our beloved trail system — damage that could take decades to recover from.

We’re organizing volunteer tree wrapping sessions to help protect vulnerable trees and preserve the trails we all enjoy. 🌲

📍 Meet at the lower level Stoney Creek Centre club room
📅 May 20–22 (details in the sing up link)

Whether you’re a ski club member or simply someone who loves these trails, we’d love your help. Bring a friend and join us for a session (or two)! Thank you for helping protect and preserve our trails for future generations! 💚
