👏 Congratulations to the members of the Timberline Secondary Interact Club on an outstanding presentation to Campbell River City Council.
These young leaders identified an issue that directly impacts students in our community, conducted their own research, gathered survey data, developed practical solutions, and confidently presented their findings to local decision-makers.
Their work demonstrates exactly what Rotary Interact is all about: empowering young people to develop leadership skills, serve their communities, and create positive change.
As highlighted in a recent Campbell River Mirror article, the students brought forward thoughtful recommendations to improve both transit and cycling safety for local youth. More importantly, they demonstrated that young people have valuable perspectives and deserve a voice in shaping the future of our community.
One quote from the presentation particularly stood out:
"We are a big part of this community too and we don't get heard as often."
Those words are a powerful reminder that today's students are tomorrow's leaders, voters, business owners, and community builders.
The Rotary Club of Campbell River is incredibly proud to support our Interact students and the leadership they continue to demonstrate. Whether through community projects, fundraising initiatives, or advocacy efforts like this one, these young people are already making a meaningful difference.
Congratulations to Bella, Maisie, Yuli, Jaylynn, and the entire Timberline Interact team on a job well done. Your preparation, professionalism, and commitment to improving our community are inspiring.
The future of Campbell River is bright. 💙💛
