Sexual Assault Services (SAS) provides immediate assistance to survivors who have experienced sexual violence and/or sexual assault. This response program is available to individuals of all genders (men, women, transgender, non-binary, and/or gender non-conforming individuals) and of all ages. SAS provides survivors with the resources they need to support their healing. Additionally, this program
aims to educate the broader community and work towards the prevention of all sexual violence. Our specialized collaborative program offers:
- A 24-hour support line providing immediate emotional support, exploration of options, and resource information to survivors of sexual violence (all genders are welcome);
- Referrals to emergency counselling at the North Island Survivors' Healing Society (NISHS), and other community resources;
- Accompaniment to the hospital, police detachment, or court. The Sexual Assault Services program is administered by Campbell River Family Services Society and funded by the Ministry of Public Safety & Solicitor General. The SAS is provided by the following partnering agencies:
- North Island Survivors' Healing Society (NISHS)
- Campbell River & North Island Transition Society (CRNITS)
- Campbell River Family Services Society (CRFSS)
