Campbell River Seniors Info Hub

Campbell River Seniors Info Hub Effective October 1st, 2023 services are temporarily suspended until Spring 2024. What do we do at the Seniors Info Hub? What else have we done?

In short, we provide people with information about senior related services and support people to access those services. We can print off forms and handouts, etc. for people to help address the barrier that online access is for some people. Currently our service is mostly over the phone, by email, at mobile sites and via presentations due to Covid 19. The goal is for us to have regular weekly sites

where people know they can come to us in person. We are not an advocacy service or navigator service. Some examples of the areas we have been asked about are housing, funding for dentures, wheels for wellness, lifeline, assistance filing out forms like Safer renewals, printing online forms, legal and tax questions and so on. Helping our most vulnerable seniors access services and funding so that they don’t have to go without important services like eye exams. It may, or may not, come as a surprise that a lot of people are not aware of what services are in town. We have created resource handouts, a resource library of printed materials from local organizations, contribute articles to the CR Mirror Vibrant 50+ Living to provide info to our community and presented at a Roundtable with Mabel Elmore, parliament secretary Seniors Services.
