Our first stop of the season is 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲, and tomorrow also marks the first year of our newly renamed 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.
As we prepare for another season on the water, we take time to remember the anglers who are no longer with us. Some of the photos shared in this post represent members of our KWC family who left us far too soon. Unfortunately we do not have pictures of Brent Moore, and Jim "Patch"
All of them were friends, competitors, mentors, and familiar faces at launches, weigh-ins, meetings, and countless days on the water. Their absence is deeply felt, but their impact on our club and our lives will never be forgotten.
While this event was originally created to honour members of KWC Bassmasters who have passed, we felt it was important to expand its meaning. The Fallen Anglers Memorial Tournament now stands as a tribute to all anglers who have left lasting memories in our hearts and in our fishing community.
Fishing is about so much more than catching fish. It's about the friendships we build, the lessons we learn, the stories we share, and the memories we create together. Many of us learned from those who came before us and shared countless hours on the water with them.
As we launch our boats tomorrow, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the anglers who can no longer be beside us. Remember the laughs, the conversations, the advice, and the unforgettable days spent sharing a boat, a dock, or a shoreline.
Tomorrow is about more than competition. It is about honouring those who helped shape our fishing community and carrying their memory forward through the sport they loved.
To our KWC family members pictured here, and to all fallen anglers, this day is for you.
Fish hard. Fish safe. Remember those we've lost and cherish those still beside us.
Gone but never forgotten
