🏳️‍🌈Happy Pride Month!🏳️‍⚧️

This month is a celebration just as much as it is a call to action. We're honouring 2SLGBTQIA+ communities while continuing the work to build safer, more inclusive communities for all.

At YWCA Cambridge, we believe equity means everyone belongs. We’re committed to showing up this month and every following month.

Speaking of showing up, on June 13th, we hope to see you at the Grand River Pride Festival! Come visit us at our booth. We're so thrilled to celebrate this month with our community.

Hold Fast. Dig In. Speak out.

Our strategic plan creates an actionable framework for the next three years, years that are likely to be critical for equity advocacy for women and gender diverse people. Together, we must continue to support each other, facilitate growth, and use our platform to drive change.

June is , a time to recognize, celebrate, and learn about the rich histories, cultures, and enduring contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

This month exists to honour the stories and resilience of Indigenous communities who have shaped this land since time immemorial, and whose leadership continues to guide our communities today.

At YWCA Cambridge, we do this work on the Haldimand Tract, land promised to the Haudenosaunee of the Six Nations, spanning six miles on each side of the Grand River. This territory is the traditional land of the Chinnonton, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee Peoples.

Let's use this month to listen, learn, and commit to the ongoing work of truth and reconciliation.

Through our Uplift program, participants built skills while building confidence through professional training 🔨👍.

YWCA Cambridge’s Uplift program provided women and gender-diverse individuals the opportunity to reskill or upskill in specialized technology fields through certification training, as well as support with job development and navigating traditionally male-dominated workplaces.

Funding for this program was not renewed, but we continue working with our Ontario YWCA partners to secure new funding so we can revive this truly life-changing program.
