Calgary Horticultural Society Cultivating Calgary's gardening community since 1908. Our mission is to encourage gardening for the enhancement of our environment and quality of life.

To educate, promote, and support gardening in Calgary. Visit www.calhort.org for our current programs. Our small group staff works year round to develop and deliver quality gardening programs that help local gardeners meet the challenges of Calgary's unique Zone 4a, high altitude, semi-arid, microclimate. We offer educational talks, workshops, and courses, facilitate plant shares, host garden tours, and nurture a network of community gardens. Twice a year we host signature events that bring high profile speakers, gardening experts, inspiring competitions, and unique exhibitors together to celebrate gardening and growing in the Calgary area.

Registration for the Master Gardener class of 2026-27 closes tonight. Don't dely, register now! Immerse yourself in gardening all winter on Saturday mornings 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. If you want, you can join online or in person. The program is split into Part A (ends December) and Part B (starts in January) for those who can't commit up front for October to April.
