The Akyemansa Association of Alberta is a cultural and community-based organization representing the vibrant Akyem people of Ghana living in Alberta, Canada. Our mission is to preserve our rich traditions, support one another, and create a strong network rooted in unity, respect, and development. Who We Are
We are descendants
of the Akyem Abuakwa, Akyem Kotoku, and Akyem Bosome states—known collectively as Akyemansa, meaning “The Three Akyems United.”
Our association brings together Akyem families, friends, and all who love Ghanaian culture. Community Support: Strengthening families, supporting newcomers, and uplifting members. Events & Celebrations: Organizing cultural festivals, educational programs, and social gatherings. Unity & Collaboration: Creating a welcoming environment for all Ghanaians and friends in Alberta.
