Into the Summit for Mental Health and Wellness

Into the Summit for Mental Health and Wellness Contribute to the campaign to raise awareness of post-traumatic stress disorder and it's devastating effects on military veterans and their families.

Join us for an adventure to descend into Rat's Nest Cave, in support of military veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and its devastating effects on themselves and their families. Taking place in April 2025, cavers will descend down into and through an unfamiliar place, struggling to navigate the darkness. Be a part of this adventure as a caver, volunteer or donor -- and help to make a difference.

Thanks The Military Museums for your support of our event on this World Mental Health Day! In two weeks our team will go on an adventure all for an important cause, veteran mental health programs. We are raising funds, please support us: https://www.canmorecavetours.com/into-the-summit

World Mental Health Day | Into the Summit
Today, on World Mental Health Day, we’re proud to support an initiative raising awareness and funds for mental health and wellness in the military community.
On Oct. 25, participants in Into the Summit for Mental Health and Wellness will descend into Rat’s Nest Cave near Canmore, taking on a challenging underground experience while raising funds to support people affected by operational stress injuries.
Members of The Military Museums community are rallying behind the cause, including Kent Griffiths, curator of The Calgary Highlanders Museum; Andrew Mullett, PPCLI collections manager; and TMM volunteers Mobina Jafarabadi and Colton Crane. Each has set a $1,000 fundraising goal in support of the initiative.
The event supports the Hamilton Gault Memorial Fund, named in honour of Brigadier Andrew Hamilton Gault, founder of Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, and its work supporting veterans and their families.
This World Mental Health Day, we’re proud to stand behind Kent, Andrew, Mobina and Colton as they raise funds, start conversations and help bring greater awareness to operational stress injuries.
Help us cheer them on and support their fundraising efforts.

Led by Christian Stenner, one of Canada's top cavers, our next caving adventure is now set for October 25, 2026. Join us for our descend into Rat's Nest Cave, under Grotto Mountain near Canmore, Alberta. Exploring Rat's Nest Cave involves climbing, crawling, sliding, wiggling and squeezing through water-worn passages past ancient cave formations and bones. This is the Best Adventure in the Rockies!

Our crew of cavers will raise funds to support Military Vets and family members with PTSD and other mental health issues. If you'd like to join us on the journey, sign up on our website. If you'd like to make a donation, do so via any of the participant profiles on the home page.

On behalf of all of us at Citadel Canine Society, we would like to sincerely thank the Hamilton Gault Memorial Fund, and the many PPCLI Veterans who make up your organization, for the recent donation in 2025 to help support our mission. It is generous donations from dedicated Canadian veterans' organizations such as yours that have enabled us to provide PTSD medical service dogs to our military veterans, and to our first responders for nearly 15 years. We have many ex PPCLI veterans within our program, and several of them act as much appreciated regular Ambassadors on our behalf. We are very proud to note that the bond between our service dog operation and the PPCLI veterans' community is strong, and whenever possible, we will endeavor to ensure that PPCLI veterans remain within our large Intake queue of potential service dog recipients. Once again, we say THANK YOU to your members for their Service, and to your organization for it's support. 🥰👍

Our team successfully navigated physical and mental challenges while underground, and have now raised over $20,000 towards our cause. We had an incredible day underground in Canmore, Alberta, crawling, rappelling, and squeezing through passages. Thanks to Canmore Cave Tours for providing access to the cave and for our equipment and other support. Our donation portal will be closing soon, but there is still a little time to show support to our team. Head over to https://www.canmorecavetours.com/into-the-summit to give. Funds raised are directed to supporting veterans with occupational stress injury programs and treatment.
