The CNMMAF is the Governing body for Amateur MMA in Canada and strives to bring a grassroots development program to Canada that will ensure the future growth of the sport. Description

The CNMMAF is a registered non profit corporation with an executive board of top MMA and Combat sports people. The World Mixed Martial Arts Association is actively bringing higher safety standards to the sport of MMA, bringing recognition to MMA as a sport that follows strict safety guidelines and standards. As a member of World MMA Association the Canadian MMA Federation adheres to their highest safety standards along with unified rules that have been vastly improving the publics perspective of Amateur MMA. With over sixty member countries in the WMMAA the future looks very bright for the eventual approval from Sport Accord for Olympic recognition. With a Board of Directors in each province and a team working together to unify MMA in Canada, unified rules and safety standards will improve the public perspective of Amateur Mixed Martial Arts. By following the mandate of the World Mixed Martial Arts Association the focus on developing MMA as an international sport, from the recreational level to the elite level can come to fruition in Canada. By driving the development of a common sets of rules, safety regulations, structure, mutual exchanges and international Olympic standards MMA is no different from other sports. In order to keep growing there is a need to support and highlight the grass roots movement of recreational athletics from children to the elderly as well as create possibilities for a world class elite sports movement showcasing the talents that Canadian Mixed Martial Artists possess. With the requirement of the WMMAF to offer a democratic system by way of offering the same opportunities of participation to all MMA or Combat Athletes in Canada, regardless if the athlete has had the opportunity to participate in a local MMA Bout the CNMMAF gives the opportunity to participate in a provincial tryout. The goal of both organizations also being to seek out the best MMA or Combat Athletes both male and Female in Canada to represent Canada at international Competitions. We believe the future of Amateur MMA lies in the different communities working together and putting their differences aside for the best opportunity for development of safety guidelines in the sport for the benefit of the Athlete . As a solely non profit organization we do have the desire and passion to bring a strong unified program to represent Canada on the provincial, national, and international platforms holding a strong desire to bring unity to Canada under one banner.
