In Loving Memory of Bill Gibson
(September 1920 – July 30, 2025)
On July 30th, we said goodbye to a true legend. The Stampede City Canadian Progress Club and all its Friends mourn the loss of Bill Gibson a cherished member, mentor, and friend who left an unforgettable mark on everyone lucky enough to know him.
Bill joined the Stampede City Canadian Progress Club in 1973 and remained a guiding light for over five decades. His contributions were endless, his friendships deep, and his mentorship lasting. He embodied everything this Club stands for: community, compassion, commitment & friendship.
Bill would have turned 105 this September and what a life he lived! He was an extraordinary human being:
– A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather
– A proud veteran
– A dedicated educator
– A generous philanthropist
– A loyal friend and an honest man
– And, of course, a “lovable” connoisseur of fine scotch
Bill had a quiet strength, a kind heart, and a twinkle in his eye that made everyone feel at ease. His legacy lives on in the stories we share, the causes he championed, and the lives he helped shape.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Bill’s entire family. Thank you for sharing him with us for so many wonderful years. His memory will always hold a place of honour in our hearts and in the history of Stampede City CPC.
