Calgary Apraxia We are a charity organization that supports, empowers and connects families affected by CAS What is Apraxia? lips, jaw, tongue).

Our goal is to enrich the lives of children affected by CAS by creating a safe, friendly and fun atmosphere for these kids to live their best life. Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) is a severe motor speech disorder. Children with CAS have problems saying sounds, syllables and words. This is because the brain has problems moving the body parts needed for speech (e.g. Children with CAS generally ha

ve typical comprehension, behaviour, and physical development, but have significant difficulty expressing themselves and being understood by others. Why we need your help

Children with CAS generally progress slowly in therapy, require years of intensive therapy in order to communicate their wants and needs, and may have co-occurring learning difficulties (such as reading and writing) due to their severe communication challenges. Every year we organize Camp Chaos - a summer camp program for kids with CAS. We are the only camp like this in Calgary and need your support to help keep this program available for kids with Apraxia.

Because of this incredible community, Step Up for Apraxia 2026 raised an amazing $38,165.34!

With the estimated support from the Rogers Birdies for Kids matching program, that total could grow to approximately $50,890.14 🤯💥

We are absolutely blown away by the generosity, fundraising, donations, sponsors, volunteers, and support shown throughout this event. Every dollar raised helps support children with Apraxia of Speech and their families through programs, resources, connection, and community.

⏰ 11:00 AM – Registration & entertainment begins
🎨 Lawn games, face painting, balloon artist, temporary tattoos, magician & Crate Therapy

🌭 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM – BBQ running all event long
Hot dogs, chips, pop & cotton candy!

🎤 12:00 PM – Opening ceremony @ the stage

🚶‍♂️ 12:30 PM – Short 1km community walk begins

🎟️ 1:30 PM – Raffle draws @ the stage
